The World’s Best Fish Don’t Catch Themselves

This is the fishing vessel Monique: home port Pelican, Alaska. Many of our customers will recognize the name of this boat from the label on salmon fillet portions they have purchased from us.

Monique is captained by Derek Stewart who is a lifelong friend and whose brother and sister-in-law, along with their crew, process all of the fish we buy out of Pelican.

The fishermen who provide our seafood don't work on factory trawlers run by publicly traded companies. They are independent fishermen operating by themselves, with their spouse, or with a hired hand, scratching out a living on an ocean that can be at times inhospitable and unforgiving.

We could not be more proud of where our fish come from, the people who catch and process them, how they are harvested, and the care they are given to make sure you get the highest quality Alaskan seafood available anywhere in the world!

We tell customers that if they want to enjoy a fresher Alaskan salmon, they will have to go to Alaska, catch it themselves, and eat it the same day. For most people that’s a rare opportunity, maybe even a bucket list item. In the meantime we will keep providing the best of Alaska’s bountiful harvest for our friends and neighbors right here in Central Texas, courtesy of the hard working men and women who participate in Alaska’s wild fisheries!
